Local is owned and operated by Pat & Ellie Mullins. While growing up between Belgium and Northern California, Ellie developed her love and respect for handcrafted artisanal meats and cheeses as well as straight from the farm produce. Pat, a native Chicagoan attended Chicago Cooking and Hospitality Institute and went on to work at Blackbird in Chicago, Hungry Cat in Santa Barbara and Pizzeria Delfina in San Francisco. Pat & Ellie met and fell in love while working together at the Hungry Cat in Santa Barbara.
The philosophy of Local is very straight forward: Source and showcase the tastiest meats, cheeses and produce the Midwest has to offer. We search out only humanely and sustainable raised meats and produce. This means no hormones, antibiotics or pesticides will ever make it to your plate. Because our products are made in small batches with seasonal ingredients coming from small producers we will have an ever changing selection of items to enjoy.
